About the course
Level A1 will allow you to understand and use familiar expressions and simple sentences, communicate in simple conversations, and describe simple objects or situations. Here is a plan that you can use to start learning this language.
Get to know the basics.
Begin with the slovenian alphabet, pronunciation and basic greetings.
Learn common slovenian phrases and expressions for everyday situations such as: Introducing yourself, ordering food and asking for directions.
Build vocabulary.
Start with simple, everyday vocabulary related to topics such as numbers, colours, family, food and clothing.
Use flashcards or vocabulary apps for practice and review.
Grammar Basics.
Learn the basics of slovenian grammar, including gender and number agreement, noun and adjective forms, and present tense verb conjugation.
Learn pronouns, articles (definite and indefinite) and general prepositions.
Listening and speaking practice.
Listen to slovenian audio, including podcasts, songs and conversations for beginners.
Practice speaking slovenian by repeating phrases, taking part in simple conversations and using language learning apps or language exchange platforms.
Reading comprehension.
Start reading simple slovenian texts. Choose children's books, short stories or graded readers for beginners.
To understand unfamiliar words and phrases, use a dictionary or language learning apps.
Writing skills.
Start practising writing in Slovenian by keeping a language learning diary or writing short sentences on familiar topics.
You can also practise writing simple e-mails, postcards or short descriptions of daily activities.
Language immersion.
Watch slovenian movies, TV shows or YouTube videos with subtitles to immerse yourself in slovenian language and culture.
Practice speaking with native speakers by finding slovenian language exchange partners or joining language learning groups.
Practice and review regularly.
Consistency is key. Practice your Slovenian by setting aside regular study time each day.
