About the language

Croatian, also known as Hrvatski, is the official language of Croatia and one of the languages spoken in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It belongs to the South Slavic branch of the Slavic language family and is written using the Latin alphabet with a few additional diacritical marks.
Croatian shares similarities with other South Slavic languages like Serbian and Bosnian. However, there are some differences in vocabulary, spelling, and pronunciation, making each language distinct.
Croatia has several regional dialects, but the Shtokavian dialect is the basis for the standard Croatian language, which is used in education, media, and official communication.
